San Antonio’s historic Pearl Stable, once 19th century lodging for Pearl Brewery’s draft horses is now a landmark venue and a perfect spot for a late-night jam session. Vocalist Catherine Russell and pianist Dick Hyman join in the fun and take the stage with The Jim Cullum Jazz Band.

Hot Licks & Sweet Things: A Tour of San Francisco’s Barbary Coast

Visualize San Francisco’s The Barbary Coast, pre 1920—where Jelly Roll Morton and King Oliver played along ‘Terrific Street,’ known for the promise of entertainment and pleasure. Vernel Bagneris and The Jim Cullum Jazz Band tell the story as seen through the eyes of Sid LeProtti, bandleader of the So Different Jazz Band.

Class of ‘39: Lindy-hopping Down the Yellow Brick Road

In 1939, America’s top dance bands were broadcast live on WNEW’s Make Believe Ballroom and America was lindy-hopping to the sounds of Swing. Meanwhile, The Wizard of Oz took film scores to a new level with the talented Harold Arlen and E.Y. Harburg. The Jim Cullum Jazz Band and guests revisit America’s post-depression culture and perform popular tunes from 1939.

Swinging on the South Side: The Heartbeat of Chicago Jazz

The Jim Cullum Jazz Band and guests Duke Heitger, Topsy Chapman and Evan Christopher visit The Dreamland Café, The Grand Terrace Ballroom, The Vendome Theatre and other Chicago hot spots—circa 1915-1930.
